I have the ball sharp and clear on the video during the set up and testing but when a person stands in to take a putt the ball becomes fuzzy and not clear, what happened and how to I fix it? A: The reason the picture of the ball turns fuzzy when a player steps in to take a putt is because the camera is set to auto focus and it is no longer focusing on the ball, but instead focusing on the person’s feet. Set your camera to manual focus and refocus the camera to the ball.

I received an error message after a putt saying the software didn’t capture 60% of the frames, what happened and how do I fix it?
A: If you had been successful in set up and testing, more than likely a shadow moved across the ball after you hit “Start Putt”. The way the software tracks the ball automatically is by looking for movement inside the circle it puts around the ball causing a false start. Check to make sure your lighting, (especially overhead) is not causing a shadow over the ball. Please also ensure that your camera has been set to Manual Focus with a shutter speed setting of 1/1000 or faster.

The picture came up after the putt but it looks like a few balls are missing, what happened and how do I fix it?
A: The reason not all the balls have shown is because the computer has dropped frames... Once you tell the Ball Roll software to 'Start Putt' the computer will start to record images for 4 seconds, then over write the images again in the next 4 seconds in a loop... All the images are stored to memory for speed, however the reason for the dropped frame is that the computer for that split second was unable to capture an image. This is because the processor is not fast or you have another program running on the pc, (i.e. taking up computer resources... an example of this is Anti-virus software). Please check the computer resources (Windows Task Manager - Crtl, Alt, Delete) and view the CPU percentage of the computer. Ensure no unnecessary programs are running on the computer. We always advise a dedicated computer for the Quintic Ball Roll Software.

Can I putt off items like alignment mirrors or other training tools?
A: The ball roll software must be able to see the entire ball. Training tools such as the mirror pictured above block out the bottom of the ball and therefore should not be used.
